Carpet Tile Installation in Bellaire
Carpet tile gives you a soft floor where one stained or worn square can be lifted and replaced. We test and patch the subfloor, snap a squared layout and set every tile on release adhesive so the seams stay closed and the edges stay flat.

What Carpet Tile Is and Where It Makes Sense
Carpet tile is carpet cut into squares or planks, usually 18 or 24 inches, with a stiff backing that holds its shape. Instead of one stretched sheet held by tack strip, each piece sits on its own. That makes it a strong fit for rooms that take spills and hard use: playrooms, game rooms, home offices under a rolling chair, media rooms and converted garages.
How long it lasts comes down to details you never see once the room is done. The slab has to be dry and flat, the adhesive has to reach the right tack before a tile touches it, and the layout has to start from a true center line so the border cuts at each wall come out even. Get those right and the tiles stay put for years. Skip them and corners curl and seams open within a season.

What Our Carpet Tile Work Includes
- 01
Moisture and pH testing
Most homes around Houston sit on concrete slabs, and slabs give off moisture. We test before we install because excess vapor breaks down adhesive and lets tiles shift.
- 02
Slab patching and leveling
Carpet tile telegraphs every dip and ridge. We grind high spots and fill low spots and cracks with cementitious patch so the backing lies flat.
- 03
Squared layout
We snap center lines off the room's true square, not off a wall that may be out. Border tiles end up close to equal on opposite sides, and no wall gets a thin sliver.
- 04
Release adhesive, rolled on
Most residential carpet tile goes down on a pressure-sensitive release adhesive. We let it dry to tack before setting tiles, which holds them firmly while still letting a single square lift out later.
- 05
Pattern and pile direction
Monolithic, quarter-turn and brick layouts each read differently in light. We follow the arrows on the back so the pile runs the way you chose.
- 06
Trims, transitions and spares
We fit reducers where carpet tile meets hardwood, tile or luxury vinyl plank, and leave you a box of spare tiles from the same dye lot.
Questions about Carpet Tile?
Call(346) 447-3257Signs Carpet Tile Is the Right Call
One spot keeps getting ruined
If a doorway, a pet's favorite corner or the space under a desk wears out long before the rest of the room, tiles let you replace just that area.
Broadloom seams are splitting
Wall-to-wall carpet in a busy room can open at the seams or ripple when the stretch lets go. Tiles have no stretch to lose.
Your current tiles curl or slide
Lifting corners and tiles that creep out of line usually mean moisture in the slab or adhesive that never reached tack. We find the cause before laying new ones.
You want soft underfoot without wall-to-wall
Kids' rooms and home gyms often need some cushion and sound control. Carpet tile delivers that, and it stays easy to clean and repair.
How the Job Runs
- 1
Measure and test
We measure each room, note doorways and transitions, and run moisture and pH tests on the slab. You get your quote by phone once we know what the floor needs.
- 2
Remove and prep
We pull the old flooring, scrape adhesive residue, grind and patch. A clean, flat slab is what keeps the tiles flat.
- 3
Lay out and spread adhesive
We snap squared lines from the center and roll on release adhesive, then wait for it to change from milky to clear and tacky.
- 4
Set, trim and roll
Tiles go in from the center out, edges butted snug without compressing the pile. Wall cuts are trimmed tight, and the field is rolled to seat the backing.
- 5
Walkthrough and cleanup
We install transitions, vacuum, haul off debris and walk the room with you. Most rooms are ready for foot traffic the same day.
What Moves the Cost of Carpet Tile
Carpet tile pricing depends far more on the room and the slab than most people expect. The tile itself is one line on the quote. Prep, layout complexity and removal are the others, and we explain each one when we talk by phone.
- Area and room shape
- Square footage sets the base. Closets, angled walls and many doorways add cuts and labor.
- Tile product
- Pile height, backing type and tile size all change the material cost, and some backings call for a specific adhesive.
- Slab condition
- A flat, dry slab needs little work. High moisture readings, cracks or old adhesive add patching, grinding or a moisture-control step.
- Tear-out
- Removing glued-down carpet, old vinyl or ceramic tile takes more time than pulling stretched carpet and pad.
Carpet Tile Questions
Can I really replace just one tile later?
Yes. Because we use release adhesive, a damaged tile can be pried up and a spare set in its place. That is why we leave you extra tiles from the same dye lot, since a later batch can be a slightly different shade.
Will carpet tile hold up on a concrete slab?
It will if the slab is tested and handled first. Moisture coming up through concrete is the most common reason tiles loosen. We test before every install and add a moisture-control step when the readings call for it.
Can it go over my existing floor?
Sometimes, over a flat, well-bonded hard surface like sheet vinyl. It cannot go over carpet or anything that flexes or has loose areas. We check during the measure and tell you plainly which way makes sense.
What if a tile lifts or a seam opens after the job?
Call us and we will come look at it. We back our work with a 1-year workmanship warranty on all installations, which applies to how the tiles were laid and bonded. We also carry insurance for the time our crew is working in your home.
How much experience do you have with carpet tile?
We have been in business 25+ years installing floors, and carpet tile is one of the materials we lay regularly. If you are weighing it against broadloom, our carpet installation page covers that option too.
